Generally it was nice for me to see that so many of you are dropping in here to keep up with my thoughts.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for voting. Did not expect so many readers/voters at all.
Thoughts on daily life. Manchmal in Deutsch, sometimes in english...depends on my mood!
Gerade heraus.
The compositions may be well done but there is no such song as „Spies“ or „Shiver“ from the album „Parachutes“. Nothing that was attracting my interest or making me want to listen again.
And even if they try to sound like prog-rockers in „YES“, the whole album remains unimportant to me....would have forgotten it already if it wouldn't be played on radio a several times a day ;-)
Besides my poor oppinon I am sure that it will get very good critics and the press will love it.
The whole CD sounds as if it was recorded from only one musician who sang and played every instrument himself. Usually this could lead into a cold atmoshere, but here it is a warm building of low down tones and of course the Tindersticks are not only one person.
The only thing that was really going on my nerves was the pathos and the vibrato of the singers voice. It is nice in one or two songs, but it is boring and silly in a whole album for my oppinion.
I like this album a lot. Especially tracks 1-5 are relaxing to listen to. The title song of the album The Hungry Saw is the first trivial and silly song and there are some more following. But all in all I will put this record on a several times again.
