Interessant.

Tuesday lifted me up a bit. I had some friends on messenger with whom I had nice chats for hours and also received unexpected feedback to my older blog posts....I hardly found any time for work ;-) That was nice. Thanks.

Moanday
Monday, moanday....did not really like me this week. As if somebody wanted to show me that my weekend has been too nice and it was now time to suffer a bit more.
At first our daughter seems to have real problems now. She does not want to go to Kindergarten anymore and that is not because of the usual "monday horror"...she says that she has no friends and they don't want to play with her. Sounds serious...gotta have an even closer eye on her.
Then in the evening, I decided to resize the partitions of my laptop. Cool idea and with the right tools very simple, but I forgot to plug in and after a while I heard "peep-peep" and the computer was off....right in the middle of the partitioning. That meant that the whole hard disk was unreadable...no end to find for the system...baaaaaah!! Now I know that my next days won't be boring.
In addition to those news, I did not really recover during the weekend and still feel like this:

Barbecue and ...shake it!
Today we were invited to my sister for a barbecue to celebrate the birthdays of my nephew and niece. I really did not want to go there because I hardly was able to do anything a all today...pain everywhere.
But then, after some talking, laughing and (who would have guessed...) a several drinks I felt very relaxed and easy...it was such a nice afternoon!!
When we came back home, my two girls were switching on the TV immediately to follow the "European Song Contest". The show did not even begin and I already had two girls on the dancefloor....where do they have all that energy from? Nice!!!!

A Beautiful Day
What makes a day beautiful? Sun? Friendly people? Good food?
Yes, those are all good reasons but the reason why my day was beautiful was more simple. If I receive misunderstandable words from a good friend that I already knew for a fairly long time, it makes me think about him/her, wondering what went wrong with our conversation and hoping that nothing serious happened to my friend.
If that person drops me a line then, telling me what happened and why, I feel relieved and good. Simple minds don't need much to feel well :-)
Anyone has an even more simple reason to turn a day into a beautiful day?

Michael Crichton - Prey (Beute)
This book is not new (german release was 2003 I think) and I read it already some years ago. Now I got it as an audio book (6CD) and was fascinated again. As the book was already hard to set aside, the audio book was even more thrilling and I hardly could pause my listening when arriving at home.
It is all a fiction, playing in the world of Nano technologies, where the most worst scenario is being described: Artificial Intelligence developing itself, learning with an incredible speed and attacking human beings in the end. Why? Because the programers/developers of those nano particles and their assemblers were using a training program called "Prey"...and now you may have a guess of who in the end are the hunters and who is the prey...

Schoolbag
Haha....yes, I thought it must be cheaper somewhere. Now we found exactly the same schoolbag that we saw in a shop yesterday. Found it on ebay...only the prize is "slightly" different. € 77,-- instead of € 110,-- make me smile a bit more now.
Jale is happy cause she will get the one she wanted and my account is happy too!

Schoolbags and Geocaching
We also went up the "Wasserturm". This 42m high tower is the town's landmark. It is not too hard too climb up the stairs but it took us quite a while because the staircases are so very narrow that two people can hardly pass each other. On top of the tower there also is hidden geocache and of course that was another reason why I wanted to go there.
Very nice view over the roof tops of Delmenhorst from there. Wanna see some photos? Click here.
Since all shops where open, and Jale will probably go to school soon, we looked around for a schoolbag for Jale. Shocking again...€ 110,-- for a schoolbag for a 6 y.o. child?? No way! But while looking around at all those well designed schoolbags, I asked myself if they were probably manufactured in Asia by childrens hands somewhere. And, even worse, what would those poor kids think about such products???
However, the day was nice and now that we know what kind of a bag she needs, I will have a look around in the internet...must be posible to save a bit there.

Happy hunting...
This morning I found kind of a gift lying on the floor in our hall. A mouse. Not sleeping but obviously dead. And near it: two old but extremly proud cats.
Nothing special that cats hunt mice you think? Sure, but our cats are already 13 years old, never went outside our flat and even more....we live in a flat on 1st floor, means we live some 4 metres above ground level.
So, where did that mouse come from and HOW??
Good that our cats get enough to eat, they just killed the mouse without squirting any blood ....gooooood kitties!!
Here is the victim:

Around the lake, flat tire and barbecue on the beach
This day we started off with a geocaching tour (only partially succesfull...see post below) and went 12 km around the lake. Our way lead us through beautiful forests to panoramic views at the Lake and to peaceful spots in nature where we were having a rest. The only bad thing was a flat tire on Jales bicycle....all over sudden there was loud noise and all the air went out of the tire. Fortunately it was only the valve of the back wheel and we could travel on after I found someone that I could borrow an air-pump from. The tour around the lake was really pretty. Very nice nature but...much too crowded as usual nowadays. You couldn't hardly drive 200-300 metres without facing some bike trafiic passing you by.
In the evening we went to the beach where we were surprised to see nearly none lying in the green gras for a party, a barbecue or any other activity ;-) The good thing was, that we had enough space and took out our portable one-way barbecue grill, our sausages, our bottles of beer...and had a fantastic relaxing evening. Jale had so much to do with playing on the playground and playing on the beach that she had not even any time left to go on our nerves :-)
That's how we like to spend our holidays. We don't need any luxurious hotel or health resort. After an active day, we would always prefer a self-grilled sausages and a bottle of beer near the lake, or anywhere else outside.

Since Jale is growing and growing (much too fast?) and enjoys bicycling more and more (yippiieee) she needs a new and larger bicycle. Her birthday will be in 4 weeks and I went to a store to find out about prices and the size she will need. And I was really surprised to find out that a 20" kids bike costs about € 150 - € 200,--!!! There are some cheaper ones though but kids should better not use them daily. I was really upset by this high prices...in about 2-3 years she will again need a new bike *sigh...
One of my favorite feeds showed me another mighty optical illusion yesterday.
Isn't that fascinating??
If you are interested in optical illusions, you should frequently drop into Mighty Optical Illusions or add it to your feed reader. Highly recommended!!

No Good Deed (The House on Turk Street)

While searching for a runaway teenager, the cop Jack (Samuel L. Jackson) is taken hostage by a group of criminals who are planning a bank robbery.
Jack is being left alone with the gang leader's girlfriend Erin (Milla
Jovovich) to watch over him while the others of the gang going to execute their plan of robbing the bank. Jack and Erin are getting closer and from that time on there is a lot of trouble between the members of the gang. Everyone seems to be eager to get near Erin and to make a conspiracy plan with her against the others.
The film did not really catch much of my attention. There are some close looks into the psyche of every protagonist and the characteres even had something (unintentional?) funny but I was missing a clear story and any surprising moment. Samuel L. Jackson to me is not a really good actor, in this film he gets along with one single face expression. Adorable Milla Jovovich however plays really good and expressive...well, she is much too charming and glamorous...far risen above any possible critics!!
