Irgendwie hab ich mich immer davor gedrückt mir Slumdog Millionaire anzusehen weil ich befürchtete das es ein furchtbar melancholisches Drama sein würde. Ist es eigentlich auch. Aber der Film hat mich gut unterhalten, hat einige Schock und Überraschungsmomente und eine interessante Story ist ihm ja nun wirklich nicht abzusprechen. Es werden ja auch alle möglichen typischen Charaktere abgebildet: der edle Ritter der nur auf der Suche nach seiner Herzallerliebsten ist, der Typ vom Slumdog zum Mafioso, die skrupellosen Folterknechte und und und. Highlights sind für mich in der Kameraführung. Da gibt es einige sehr tolle Aufnahmen die sich bei mir richtig festgebrannt haben.
Aber der Film kann sicherlich nicht nur unterhalten sondern auch zum Nachdenken anregen. Falls durch den hochprämierten Film eine Moral oder ein besonderer Sinn vermittelt werden sollte, hat er sich mir allerdings nicht erschlossen.
Und das Happy End ist zwar berechtigt, aber ein paar Nummern zu pathetisch geraten. Trotz allem: Sehenswert

Hi Richa,
as you maybe can imagine, I was wrtiting some sentences about the film "Slumdog Millionaire" that I saw on DVD recently. I found it to be a very interesting and touching movie. I made a little translation:
Somehow I have always shrunk from viewing the film Slumdog Millionaire because I was afraid that it could be a terribly melancholic drama. And in fact it is. But the movie has entertained me well, has some moments of shock and surprise and an interesting story. There are also all sorts of typical characters depicted: the noble knight searching and defeating the love of his life, the slumdog kid who turns into a Mafioso, the unscrupulous torturers and so on. Highlights for me are in the camera work. There are some very nice shots that really left a mark on my brain for some time.
But the film is certainly not only entertaining but also deep and stimulating your thoughts. But if the highly decorated film wants to impart any particular morality or a special meaning, I did not get it, it has not reached me.
And the happy ending is actually entitled, but a few numbers too pathetic for my oppinion. In spite of everything: well worth seeing!!
